The Duke Blue Devils and the Purdue Boilermakers meet in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Tip off is Friday at 10PM EST on CBS.

Sportsbooks opened with Duke as a 7 point favorite and the early money on Duke now has the line at 8 to 8.5 point favorite in this match-up. The total opened at 129.5 and now stands at 127.5. On the Money line Duke is -410 and Purdue is +370

Duke easily covered the point spread as they ran over Cal in their last game 68-53. This is the nineteenth time Coach Krzyzewski’s Blue Devils will play in a Sweet 16 game. Duke’s size and ability to play defense will prove to be a challenge for Purdue in Friday’s game.

One seeded Duke and four seeded Purdue play in Houston with only one team moving on to play the winner of the Baylor – St. Mary’s game for a chance to win the South Region. Purdue is coming into this match-up after having a much different week than Duke.

Purdue’s 63-61 overtime win over Texas A&M came to a dramatic ending as Boilermaker guard 6’3″ Chris Kramer drove past Aggies defenders to make a layup to win the game with four-seconds left in OT. Kramer, who played 31 minutes in last week’s game against Texas A&M, averaged 27.7 this season. Kramer had 17 points and seven rebounds against the Aggies, which is an impressive showing since he only had double digit points in eight games out of all 34 games Purdue played. Overall Kramer averaged 6.7 points, 2.3 assists, and three rebounds per game this season.

Boilermaker guard E’Twaun Moore has lead Purdue in scoring this season averaging 16.4 points per game with 2.7 assists and 3.8 rebounds. Moore has a 34.3 three point percentage over many attempts. Moore went four for eight from beyond the three in the Big Ten Conference tournament against Northwestern. In last week’s game against Texas A&M Moore went seven for 17 from the field but only hit one of five three points for a total of 15 points.

Blue Devil’s center, 7’1″ senior Brian Zoubek, played 23 minutes against Cal. He went six for six from the field for 14 points. Zoubek also had a steal and a block. Besides the three other 6’10″ guys on Duke’s roster, the Blue Devils’ also have a solid point guard Nolan Smith. Smith can play all 40 minutes and has on a few occasions this season including his last game against Cal where he went nine for 18 from the field and one of his two three point shots. Smith has averaged 17.2 points per game this season along with 2.9 assists and 1.3 steals. The 6’2″ junior also averaged 2.8 rebounds per game for the Blue Devils.
