The Duke Devils will be taking on the West Virginia Mountaineers in one of the semifinals game of the MNCA Tournament Final Four. Duke was the only number one seed to make it Indianapolis while West Virginia is making is second visit ever to the Final Four but first since 1959. Duke will be making their 15th final four appearance.
The Duke Blue Devils are the favorite to win the tournament at 7/5. The West Virginia Mountaineers is next at 2/1, followed by the Butler Bulldogs at 5/2 and the Michigan State Spartans are the long shot at 17/5.
In the Las Vegas betting lines, Duke opened as -1 .5 favorites in a few places but opened mostly as 2.5 favorites and the total opened up around 131. There has been no major movement to date. Duke opened up as a -140 favorite on the money line with the Mountaineers coming in at +120. Duke has been bet up to -150 favorite and the Mountaineers are at +130.
The Blue Devils will be seeking their first National Championship since 2004. Duke has won their last eight straight games by an average margin of 14.3 points per game. The Duke Blue Devils have been very strong in the post and they nailed 11 of 23 from behind the arc in their 78-71 victory over Baylor,
The Mountaineers will be looking for their first National Championship and come in having won their last 10 games of the season by an average Margin of nine points per game. The Mountaineers are holding their opponents to under 35% shooting from the floor. West Virginia held the Kentucky Wildcats to 4-for-23 from 3-point land beating them 73-66.
Both Teams are 4-0 ATS in the tournament and are perfect 11-0 on a neutral court. The Mountaineers are an amazing 16-2 ATS in the tournament and are 9-1 ATS when facing a team from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
These two teams met in the NCAA tournament in 2008 withe Mountaineers coming away with a 73-67 win in Huggins first year at West Virginia to advance to the sweet sixteen. Duke was held to 38% shooting from the floor and mussed 15 consecutive 3-pointers at point in the game.
The Duke Devils will be looking to get revenge for the first meeting and will have the shooters ready to go when thy face the Mountaineers defense.
