The Phoenix Suns travel to Portland to play the Blazers in Game Three of the first round of the Western Conference Finals. Tip off at the Rose Garden in Portland is at 10:00 ET. TV coverage is provided by NBA TV.

Phoenix lost their post season opener 100-105. It was a close game where Portland managed to pull away in the last four minutes. Blazers point guard Andre Miller scored 31 points in last Sunday’s Game One. Miller had 15 points in the fourth quarter alone. Miller hit all 10 of his free throws and sank his only three point attempt. Andre Miller could not replicate his efforts in Game Two on Tuesday where he had 12 points and three assists in 29 minutes of play.

The Suns were able to tie the series last Tuesday when they dominated Portland, coming away with a 119-90 win. Suns guard Jason Richardson had 29 points going 11-16 from the field. He had six rebounds and hit 4-5 three pointers and 3-4 free throws. The Suns are 27-4 this season when Richardson has 20 or more points. Forward Grant Hill hit 10-11 shots for 20 points, adding eight rebounds. 6’10″ Power forward Amare Stoudemire had 18 points and seven rebounds, hitting eight of eight free throw attempts.

The big news for the Blazers in tonight’s game is Nicolas Batum, the 21 year-old 6’8″ small forward from France who missed 45 games this season with an injured shoulder. He strained the same shoulder and is now questionable for tonight. Reports say that Batum is a game time decision. Batum has had a relatively average performance this post season. Batum had 18 points in 38 minutes of play in Game One and 12 points in 23 minutes of play in Game Two. As of Thursday morning Batum says he’s 75% to play tonight, keeping in mind that it is still Portland coach Nate McMillan’s game time decision. The Arizona Republic reports that if Batum doesn’t play, Martell Webster will likely take his place, but it is a possibility that the Blazers will move 21-year old 6’3″ back up point guard Jerryd Bayless to the shooting guard position and put starting shooting guard Rudy Fernandez in at small forward.

Odds makers opened the spread at pick ‘em. With action on the Blazers, Portland is now a one point favorite at most books. The total was bet down one point to 204 since the line opened at 205.
